Local Events to Beat the Winter Blues
Every time this part of the year rolls around, it is hard to beat the after-holiday back-to-work slump, especially when the weather can be quite dreary and cold. However, there is still a fantastic selection of local events to get you energized and even enjoying the outside! This week you should check out the Blue Man Group and Ipreo Raleigh Winterfest before both are gone. And for those of you making some new resolutions like ‘learn to cook’ or ‘take a class’ – Southern Season in Chapel Hill has a great selection for people of all skill levels. Details below!
Blue Man Group at Duke Energy Center
Yes, they may have ‘blue’ in the title but there is nothing chill about the Blue Man Group performances at Duke Energy Center! Sure to entertain and delight you, the theatrical shows combine comedy, music, and technology to produce something completely unique. With no spoken language, the event is perfect for people of all ages and backgrounds. Running 95 minutes from Thursday January 29 – Sunday January 31, tickets start at $28.83 and the show will be at Memorial Auditorium in downtown Raleigh.
If you haven’t been yet, this is the last weekend to participate in the Ipreo Raleigh Winterfest – featuring a natural ice outdoor skating rink, this is a great way to get some outdoor exercise in while having fun and spending time with others. Cost of admission is $9 and includes skate rental and more info such as hours and where to park is on their website. More info on any special programming can also be found on their Facebook page.
