Political Pig Pickin’: Tuesday, September 22nd – 5:30 p.m.

Are you interested in finding out more about the candidates in the upcoming local municipal races? Then you don’t want to miss the Political Pig Pickin’ held on Tuesday, September 22nd from 5:30p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the Angus Barn Lakeside Pavilion. Hosted by the Triangle Community Coalition, this night of fun, food, and politics promises to be a great time for all involved. At this one-of-a-kind event, participants will be able to mingle with the candidates from the triangle region to better understand them and their stances. The candidates will compete in a fun cornhole competition to have the opportunity to give a short “stump speech” onstage.

Rock and Roast

Rock & Roast: Thursday, September 24th – 5:30 p.m.

Read and Feed, a non-profit corporation dedicated to influencing low-income elementary school children in the Wake County area and helping them to improve their reading skills, is hosting a night of food and fundraising at Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh. Guests will enjoy a delicious oyster roast, BBQ Chicken, and all the fixings prepared by Rocky Top Catering. There will also be a “Make Your Own S’mores Station”, beer & wine, and live music. Southern home show

Southern Ideal Home Show: Friday, September 25th – Sunday, September 27th

At the Southern Ideal Home Show held in the Jim Graham building at the NC State Fairgrounds, hundreds of companies will be on hand to offer advice, services, and more! Browse options for home improvement and décor, outdoor living, interior design, kitchen and bath, and others. You may also enter to win a $10,000 kitchen or bath remodel. There will be lots of delicious food and drinks on site from Brews & Bites, Mother Earth Brewing, Fogwood Food, Raleigh Brewing Company, Oval Park Grille, Milton & Miles and many more. Take time to stop by the question and answer sessions with HGTV’s Hilary Farr (host of “Love It or List It”) on Saturday, September 26th at Noon and 3:30pm. These sessions will be emceed by ABC11 Eyewitness News Anchor, Heather Waliga.
