Summer can be grossly hot and sticky but it is also the perfect time to head outside in the evening and enjoy some great events in the region. This coming week offers a couple free local options in downtown Raleigh – the PNC Downtown Movie Series and Oak City 7 Concerts.
This weekend is the first weekend of summer and there’s plenty of ways to celebrate – from the New Belgium Tour De Fat to the 13th annual Kirby Derby to the NC Fresh Catch Festival, these are just a few ways to enjoy yourself this weekend.
As usual the end of May / beginning of June is full of local Raleigh festivities for people of all ages throughout the Triangle. Here are three to check out: Redress Raleigh, NCMA’s Renaissance Faire, and Triangle Restaurant Week!

April may be NC Beer Month but there’s something for wine lovers this weekend too! The Great Grapes Wine and Food Festival happens this Saturday, April 12th, at the Cary Koka Booth Amphitheatre. From 11am – 7pm you can enjoy 220 different wines from 20 different wineries, great live music, and food and crafts.
