Handmade Market: indie artist shopping in Raleigh
This Saturday, November 9th, is the 5th annual Handmade Market, a shopping mecca of independent artists, designers, and crafters from North Carolina and beyond. Happening from 11:00am – 5:00pm at Cobblestone Hall in downtown Raleigh, Handmade Market features a plethora of goods from fine art to apparel to jewelry and accessories to housewares, paper goods, and more. It’s the perfect place to find uncommon handcrafted items to be given as gifts for that discerning, hard-to-buy-for friend. It’s also a great place to pick up something new for yourself!
General admission is free, though early bird admission is offered for $5 from 10:00am – 11:00am. Paying for early bird entry is often worth it to avoid the massive crowds and get first dibs on all the goodies. There is also a raffle that supports a local charity – the prizes are always great products from local designers and businesses and 100% of ticket sales go to the chosen charity. A full list of designers as well as information on parking and directions to the event can be found online.
