Local Business Spotlight: Lonerider Brewing Company

As purveyors of “ales for outlaws,” Lonerider Brewing Company is a Raleigh-based craft beer producer with an inspirational philosophy on life.  In conjunction with their production of unique and delicious beer, Lonerider’s significant community involvement ensures that the brewery has many fans throughout the local and regional craft beer scene.  Whether through Brew it Forward, Lonerider’s homebrewing contest that donates a portion of proceeds to charity, or as a sponsor of the fan section of the Carolina Railhawks, it’s no surprise that Lonerider’s popularity is on the rise!

Founded just three years ago, Lonerider is already planning a facility expansion that will allow it to double its brewing capacity by August.

Located off Westgate Avenue very near RDU airport and Brier Creek, they currently produce three standard brews and a seasonally rotating specialty brew. Current styles include Shotgun Betty, a German style Hefeweizen; Peacemaker, a west coast style American Pale Ale; and Sweet Josie, an American Brown Ale. These outlaw ales are also highly decorated ones; Sweet Josie brought home a Gold medal at the 2010 Great American Beer Festival and their DeadEye Jack Porter followed up that medal-winning performance with a Silver at the 2011 Festival!

Lonerider’s Tasting Room hours are 5-9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 2-7 p.m. on Saturdays. Currently their brewery tours are on hold due to the facility expansion but be sure to stop by during Tasting Room hours or pick up one of their thirst-quenching ales at your local pub or craft beer retailer!
