Halloween Festival at City Market

Looking for a safe, fun way to celebrate Halloween with the kids? Join the merchants of City Market and Moore Square for a Halloween Festival this Saturday, October 25th, from 2 – 5pm. Enjoy magic, music, games, photo ops of all your fabulous costumes and more! Prizes awarded for the best costume and you can trick or treat at participating stores. A great way to enjoy the spooky fun of the season and support the area’s local small businesses!

Reel-ly Scary Cary

Hosted over three ‘spooktacular’ nights, the Reel-ly Scary Cary film series has three different flicks for you to enjoy this week: classic scary movie Pet Sematary on Thursday Oct 23; a not-as-scary kid-friendly movie on Friday Oct 24 (Monsters University); and the contemporary scary movie The Conjuring on Saturday. Movies start at 8pm at the Koka Booth Amphitheater in Cary and tickets are available for $10 for ages 13 and up. Gates open at 6pm and there is also a haunted house from 6 – 10pm on Thursday and 6 – 11pm on Friday and Saturday.

Carolina Ballet’s Dracula and the Masque of the Red Death

Leave the kids at home for this one – a spine-chilling program by the Carolina Ballet, this event features ballet adaptations of two of the scariest gothic tales of all time: Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Edgar Allen Poe’s The Masque of The Red Death. With live chamber music in addition to the hauntingly beautiful theatrical performance, this is for more than just core ballet fans. Held at Fletcher Opera Theater in downtown Raleigh, tickets range from $30 – $68, with performances at 8pm on Saturday Oct 25 and 2pm on Saturday Oct 25 and Sunday Oct 26.
