Celebrating 35 years as one of the South’s premier art festivals, Artsplosure takes place this weekend, Saturday May 17th from 11am – 10pm and Sunday May 18th from 10am – 8pm, in downtown Raleigh. Artwork in 10 different categories from over 180 juried fine artists and craftspeople will be available for sale and there are multiple musical acts throughout the weekend, with a particular focus on jazz, blues, traditional and roots-inspired performers. In addition there is a Student Art Exhibit at Marbles and tons of other activities to do or observe – such as sand sculptures, hoop dancing, street theater, a giant chess board, a drum circle, and recycled plastic art!

An event appropriate for all ages, there is a Kidsplosure area in Moore Square with many activities to keep the kids creatively occupied too. There will be a few food and beer vendors and detailed directions about parking as well as a map and list of art vendors can be found online and through the mobile app. The event is free!

Taste of the Triangle

This Saturday starting at 5:30pm before the next Carolina RailHawks game, enjoy live music, fresh food, and local brews at the Taste of the Triangle event. Offering free samples to any individuals with tasting bracelets, vendors include everything from burgers to Bojangles sweet tea to sushi. Purchasing a $16 tasting bracelet ($11 for Under 21, $5 for Child age 3-5) gets you access to beer from White Street Brewing Company and a variety of food vendors as well as live music.

The event is located adjacent to the stadium and tickets can be bought in advance online, as well as tickets to the soccer match against Southern rival Atlanta Silverbacks, which starts at 7:30pm.
