Artsplosure

Celebrating 35 years as one of the South’s premier art festivals, Artsplosure takes place this weekend, Saturday May 17th from 11am – 10pm and Sunday May 18th from 10am – 8pm, in downtown Raleigh. Artwork in 10 different categories from over 180 juried fine artists and craftspeople will be available for sale and there are multiple musical acts throughout the weekend, with a particular focus on jazz, blues, traditional and roots-inspired performers. In addition there is a Student Art Exhibit at Marbles and tons of other activities to do or observe – such as sand sculptures, hoop dancing, street theater, a giant chess board, a drum circle, and recycled plastic art!

An event appropriate for all ages, there is a Kidsplosure area in Moore Square with many activities to keep the kids creatively occupied too. There will be a few food and beer vendors and detailed directions about parking as well as a map and list of art vendors can be found online and through the mobile app. The event is free!
