Symphonie Fantastique: Friday, April 10th
Everyone who enjoys musical arts has experienced that awe-inspiring feeling that sweeps over you the moment a piece is perfectly executed. That’s exactly what you can expect from the North Carolina Symphony’s Symphonie Fantastique featured on Friday, April 10th at noon. Presented in the Meymandi Concert Hall at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts, this special daytime performance is offered as part of the Friday Favorite Series. Arrive at 11am for a pre-concert talk with North Carolina Symphony Associate Conductor, David Glover! (There are also some evening shows Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.) 70’s Throwback 5k Run/Walk Community Event: Saturday, April 11th
Dust off your bell bottoms, drag out your tie die t-shirt, and join the fun at the 70’s Throwback 5k Run/Walk Community Event taking place at 9am on Saturday, April 11th at the Historic Dorothea Dix Campus! This community event, sponsored by Raleigh North Christian Center, is intended to promote and encourage overall health, wellness, and a sense of community while offering a fun-filled day for all involved. After the 5k, participants may enjoy activities such as Zumba, a Kids Fun Run, and the Capital City Steppers. Unconditional: The Unique Bond Between Humans and Their Companion Pets: Saturday, April 11th (Reception)
Take this opportunity to enjoy inspiring art while contributing to a great cause. Second Chance Pet Adoption is sponsoring this event at the ArtSource Fine Art Gallery at North Hills. The reception, held Saturday, April 11th, 6pm-8pm, features beautiful pieces inspired by the unique bond between humans and their companion pets. You can view (and purchase) over 30 pieces of artwork from over 20 local artists, participate in a raffle for wonderful prizes donated by area businesses, and enjoy hors d’oeuvres and wine catered by Flight Restaurants.
